Zombie fingers

It’s the countdown to Halloween, and creepy things are brewing in my kitchen. What’s on the menu? Severed zombie fingers cookies! Disturbingly macabre yet you’d be surprise on how horribly delicious these are. Now, while it looks daunting making these creepy pointers, these Halloween cookies are actually quite easy to make. Your guests will be dying to eat this “finger food”. A sliced almond is added on one end for fingernail. The first batch of fingers weren’t chilled and the fingers lost a bit of its form and details. Strawberry or any other red colored jam can be used in place of the red candy melts to attach the almond slices. And whole almonds can also be used in place of the thinner almond slices. The more realistic you’ll make them, the more kids will be amazed by these zombie fingers!

INGREDIENTSZombie fingers
250g stoned dates
100g dark chocolate, chopped
3 tbsp smooth peanut butter
3 tbsp porridge oats
flaked toasted almonds

DIRECTIONS
Tip all the ingredients except the almonds into a food processor and pulse until you have a rubbly looking mixture.

Line a tray with baking parchment and mould the mixture into fingers, then lay them on the tray.

Press an almond ‘fingernail’ into the end of each finger and place in the fridge to harden for at least 1 hr. Serve poking out of a bowl.
