Herb ranch dressing is a fresh and tasty salad dressing/dip made of buttermilk, herbs (chives, parsley, and dill), salt, garlic, onion and spices (usually black pepper, paprika and ground mustard seed), mixed into a sauce. Sour cream and yogurt can be sometimes used as a substitute to create a lower-fat version of herb ranch dressing. Ranch dressing has been the best-selling salad dressing in the U.S. since 1992, so that’s more than 20 years now! Herb ranch dressing is also common as a dip for vegetables such as broccoli and carrots, as well as for chips and “bar foods”, like french fries and chicken wings. It is also a common dipping sauce for fried foods such as fried mushrooms, fried zucchini, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, chicken fingers and more.
